GLAS – Handlungen & Resonanzen
With the project ‘Glass - Actions & Resonances’, sound artist Anne Munka, performance artist Heidi Morgenstern and photographer Iona Dutz explore glass as a fragile material, a carrier of life stories, everyday culture and handicrafts in Lusatia. They explore the question of what significance the glass industry, once a major branch of industry in Lusatia, still has for the people and the region today. The project aims to create personal insights and interactive approaches to the glass industry in Lusatia and build a bridge between documentary perspectives on industrial culture and contemporary artistic practices. Acts of remembrance and storytelling create hope and ideas.
The project was realised in Weißwasser and Rietschen in 2024 and shown as a travelling exhibition at the Görlitzer Streifen e.V. and the Museum der Westlausitz in Kamenz.
In February 2025, the exhibition will be presented at the Weißwasser Glass Museum.
The project was funded by KdFS and Ostsächsische Sparkasse
